Celebrate Spring at Constellation Residences at Northstar

Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival

Squaw Valley Village is hosting the annual Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 20th. The 2013 theme is “Do Another Thing” and the festival runs from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. and is free to everyone. The event is organized and run by volunteers and will celebrate the beauty of the Tahoe area. Free transportation is available from locations throughout North Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, and Truckee. There will be concerts, entertainments and educational resources for children and adults.

Events and educational events include activities to teach guests about recycling and composting strategies, alternative energy, sustainability, watershed and forest health, and reducing ecological footprints.  Trash receptacles will not be provided at the festival, food vendors will provide recyclable  and vendors are encouraged to limit handouts to sign

The child zone will have a composting zone, face painting, a solar play station, native planting exhibit and a visit from the Science Wizard, a children’s entertainer and comedian.

Entertainment includes live music and a recycling fashion show performance “Environlution Trashion” by the Truckee High School Environlution Club, “Trashion”.

The Schedule of Events listed below includes something for everyone.

  • 8:00am-10:00am – Celebrate Earth Day with Trilogy Spa – Meet at Trilogy Spa to help clean the Squaw Valley parking lot. Anyone who wishes to join us will receive 20% off any treatment. We are encouraging everyone to bike in or ride the TART that day. Questions please call 530-584-6125

Tahoe City Spring Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt

The  Tahoe City Parks and Recreation Department will host an egg hunt for the whole family on Saturday, March 30th.  Activities will include an egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, games and more. Adults will have the chance to participate in a “golden egg” hunt.  The Spring Eggstravaganza will be held at Commons Beach in Downtown Tahoe City at 10:00 a.m. and the entire event is free. Remember to bring your camera!

2013 Soup and Chili Showdown

Sign up by Friday, March 8th to compete in this year’s Soup and Chili Showdown. Entry in the competition is free, but pre-registration is required. The Showdown will take place on March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rideout Community Center in Tahoe City.

The 2013 Soup and Chili Showdown is hosted by Tahoe City Recreation Department and the Historical Society and is open to the public for $5 per person. Children get to sample the entries for free. The Lake Tahoe Historical Society will have beer and wine for sale.

North Lake Tahoe Snowfest! March 1-10

Snowy_TreeA North Lake Tahoe spring-time tradition, Snowfest! brings the community together for fun and hundreds of events at the north and west shores of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Squaw Valley and Truckee.  The event is geared for the entire family to enjoy and features fun and games for children and adults including fireworks, various parties, parades, polar bear plunges, a fashion show, specialty food and wine events, community fundraisers and so much more!

Historically, March provides some of the best snow pack of the year and many Snowfest! events center around the snow. So whether you ski, snowboard, are particularly skilled at making snowmen or enjoy the North Lake Tahoe views in the winter, you will have plenty of events to choose from.
