Alpineglow Festival Continues this week – Event without the snow!

snowshoe hikeThe 10 day Alpineglow Festival continues this week with some great activities if you’re around this week and continues until March 1st.  Although the snow is minimal currently and the weather warm, they still have some great activities that it’s still a good time to try.

Ski Film – Sugar Mountain screening at Art Haus Tonight

Need some entertainment tonight? Head to Tahoe City tonight  for the screening of a ski film about Sugar Mountain in Alaska.  The film features local Miles Clark, and live dialogue after with producer Oscar McLennan.  Live music and free beer from 6-7pm with the screening beginning at 7 pm.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Breakfast with Santa in North Tahoe Dec. 13th

Pancake Breakfast Santa HatBring the kiddos out for a FREE breakfast with Santa on Dec. 13th from 10:00 am -1:00 pm sponsored by Tahoe City Rotary and the Tahoe City PUD.  Breakfast will be located at the Tahoe City WInter Sports Park In addition to the pancake breakfast, kiddos will enjoy Santa will stopping by and some sledding and snow play

Dinner Tonight? Head over to Squaw for dinner Supporting Farm to School Dec. 2nd

Tahoe PizzaIf you cooked enough last week and just don’t feel like cooking tonight head over to Fireside Pizza at Squaw for a fundraiser supporting Farm to School, a program that supports using local farmers and produce for school meals.  This event is put together by the Tahoe Food Hub and you can read more about their mission to educate and increase access to a regional food system.  Just $10 gets you all you can eat Pizza, Pasta and Salad – seems like a great deal to me!  Event goes from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm tonight, December 2nd.  We’ll see you there!

“Pretty Faces – The Story of a Skier Girl” – Tahoe Premiere Dec. 7th

A new ski movie by Lynsey Dyer airs at the Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema at Cobblestone in Tahoe City on December 7th at 6pm.   “Pretty Faces – The Story of a Skier Girl” is an all female ski film celebrating women with the love of snow.  Read more about the films mission to empower young girls and give them inspiration from some amazing female role models.
